Job Description

FENAID is implementing a consortium project titled “Collective Action for Disability Right (CADiR)”, launched in 2025 and running until the end of 2029. The objective of the program is to contribute to the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities in Ethiopia.

The project aims to foster change at individual, organizational, and systemic levels (local, regional, and national) with a focus on: Human Rights Advocacy and Organizational Development, Inclusive Education, Economic Empowerment, Health and Rehabilitation.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage the Implementation of the Economic Empowerment Project

  • Finalize the annual work plan and budget, and oversee their execution.
  • Provide advisory support to Office Management on Economic Empowerment.
  • Lead technical implementation and ensure alignment with other project teams.
  • Participate in consortium meetings, project reviews, and evaluations related to Economic Empowerment.
  • Ensure adherence to project results framework and donor requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with FENAID policies and standards.
  • Monitor activity implementation to ensure alignment with plans and budgets.
  • Lead and adjust the intervention strategy as needed.
  • Plan activities and manage associated resources effectively.
  • Maintain monitoring systems, including tracking progress indicators and outcomes.
  • Apply lessons learned, recommendations, and knowledge from previous projects.

2. Manage Monitoring and Reporting

  • Oversee monitoring of activity implementation.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports focused on outputs and outcomes.
  • Produce internal and external progress reports.

3. Coordinate Inter-Organizational Engagement

  • Provide technical support and participate in meetings, events, and working groups.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners, consortium members, and government offices to ensure alignment and harmonization with FENAID’s broader efforts.

4. Lead Advocacy, Knowledge Building, and Communication

  • Represent FENAID in meetings and policy dialogues on economic empowerment for persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Manage and implement advocacy strategies.
  • Identify and document best practices and lessons learned.
  • Participate in networks to enhance FENAID’s external influence.
  • Communicate relevant project updates to partners and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
  • Project management certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in economic empowerment initiatives, including innovative income-generation approaches for persons with disabilities.
  • Experience liaising with government agencies (advantage).
  • Experience working in non-governmental organizations.
  • Team leadership experience is an asset.

Languages

  • Fluency in Amharic and English is required.
