About this opportunity

We are seeking a dependable and proactive Driver–Liaison Officer to join our Ethiopia team. This role ensures the safe and reliable transportation of staff and goods, while also providing administrative, logistical, and liaison support to keep our office running smoothly. The successful candidate will be a skilled driver, an organized problem-solver, and a strong representative of Kinvia’s values when engaging with partners, suppliers, and government offices..

Areas of Responsibility

• Safely operate and maintain Kinvia vehicles, ensuring all documentation, insurance, and servicing are up to date.
• Support logistics and procurement activities, including transporting goods, coordinating supplies, and assisting with field visits and workshops.
• Liaise with government offices, service providers, and suppliers to ensure timely processing of permits, payments, and other official requirements.
• Support overall office operations, including equipment setup, mail handling, document and inventory management, and other administrative tasks as required.
• Ensure compliance with Kinvia’s policies, including Child Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), and workplace conduct standards.
• Represent Kinvia positively and professionally at all times.

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school (Grade 12 preferred), with at least 5 years of relevant experience in driving and logistics.
• Possession of a valid 3rd Grade (or higher) driver’s license.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics, procurement, or liaison roles, preferably within an NGO.
• Knowledge of child safeguarding, PSEA, and ethical conduct requirements in NGO operations.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and at least one Ethiopian language (Amharic or Oromifa required).
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a high level of integrity and accountability.
• Ability to problem-solve and collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, and authorities.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and travel to partner project sites.
