JaRco Consulting is a leading international consulting firm based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, specializing in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). We work across diverse technical sectors including agriculture, livelihoods, health, nutrition, gender, and capacity development. Our clients include international donors, NGOs, UN agencies, and private sector actors. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to help drive strategic growth and support the design of high-quality, competitive proposals.

Position Summary

The Driver will provide reliable and compliant support to program activities in order to achieve efficient service to JaRco beneficiaries. The driver will provide safe, transport services for JaRco Consulting program and support staff in the described area of Responsibility. The driver will adhere to all traffic rules and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive research staff, collaborators, and visitors to and from research sites, offices, and other required locations.
• Ensure the safety of passengers by following road safety and traffic regulations.
• Transport sensitive research equipment, samples, and documents securely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials to prevent damage.
• Perform regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Schedule and monitor timely servicing and repairs of the vehicle.
• Keep the vehicle clean, both inside and out.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle use, mileage, fuel consumption, and service.
• Report any accidents, delays, or vehicle issues promptly to immediate supervisor.
• Assist field teams with setup and logistics during site visits or data collection missions.
• Support loading and unloading equipment during field deployments.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding research activities, materials, and discussions overheard during travel.
• Demonstrate professional behavior when interacting with researchers, stakeholders, and participants.
• Follow the company’s travel policies, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.
• Ensure that all required documents (license and insurance) are up to date.
• Be prepared to respond calmly and appropriately in case of road emergencies or medical needs during transport.

Minimum Qualification

• 3rd Grade or above Valid Driving License.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Driver
• Experience in repairing Vehicles (Auto background) is an advantage.
• Grade 10 and above
• Ability to communicate in both Amharic & English languages and knowledge of other local language is preferred. Grade 10 and above
• Knowledge of routes, duty stations, project areas is required.
