Enhance the oral health and overall well-being of UN staff and eligible beneficiaries through the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and patient-centered dental care. This will be achieved by ensuring early detection and management of dental conditions, promoting oral hygiene, maintaining comprehensive records, and supporting the multidisciplinary health care approach of the UN Health Care Center. The Dentist’s contributions will support the Center’s mission to provide safe, effective, and inclusive medical services in accordance with established standards of excellence.
The Dentist at the UN Health Care Center will be responsible for delivering comprehensive dental care services to UN personnel, their families, and eligible beneficiaries. This individual contractor plays a vital role in maintaining oral health, preventing dental diseases, and promoting overall wellness within the UN community. The individual contractor is expected to uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality while working collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
• Perform thorough dental examinations, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
• Provide a full range of dental procedures, including preventive care, restorative treatments, extractions, and emergency dental interventions.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, disease prevention, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
• Prepare and maintain accurate, comprehensive dental records and documentation for referring clinicians as required.
• Consult with medical staff regarding dental findings and recommend further investigations or specialist referrals when appropriate.
• Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and safety of all dental equipment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the overall patient management plans.
• Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and policies of the UN Health Care Center.
• Conduct comprehensive dental assessments and routine oral health screenings for UN staff and eligible beneficiaries.
• Deliver preventive and restorative dental treatments, including but not limited to, fillings, extractions, and scaling/polishing procedures.
• Provide tailored oral health education and counseling to promote disease prevention and encourage regular dental check-ups.
• Maintain accurate and confidential dental records, ensuring timely documentation for both clinical and administrative purposes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to coordinate integrated patient management and refer cases requiring specialist intervention.
• Ensure the safe operation and regular maintenance of dental equipment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to contribute dental expertise to overall patient care plans.
• Comply with all relevant protocols, guidelines, and policies established by the UN Health Care Center.
