Background
The Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Initiative is a specialized financing mechanism supporting Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The CREWS 2030 Strategy sets an ambitious goal to improve access to early warning and climate services for those most at risk, aiming to strengthen climate resilience and address loss and damage by 2030.
This consultancy aims to develop the CREWS Operational Plan for 2026 – 2030 supporting the CREWS 2030 Strategy. The Operational Plan provides the technical foundation and clear milestones necessary to support strategy targets, ensuring that operations and resource development are perfectly synchronized.
The main objective is to develop a CREWS Operational Implementation Plan 2026 – 2030 that is:
Under the oversight of the CREWS Director and direct supervision of the CREWS Senior Programme Officer, the Senior Consultant will perform the following duties:
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Finance, Public Administration or a closely related field.
Experience: At least 10 years progressively responsible experience in strategic and operational planning
Other Requirements:
The Senior Consultant must demonstrate managerial-level proficiency in the following competencies:
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.
(Note: the official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Salary and Allowances : Payband D
Travel: One travel to Geneva
Duration: 45 days over a period of 6 months
