POSITION OVERVIEW:

To support the overall functioning of the assigned country Clubfoot Program to eliminate clubfoot as an adult disability and to fulfill the mission of Hope Walks.  The position will focus on providing supervision, training, and mentoring to ensure effective and high-quality clinical treatment of clubfoot in the assigned country.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Provide active support and continuous monitoring of clinic operations across four regions: Sidama, Central Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, and Oromia (South)
  2. Manage the activities relating to the clinical services of the national Clubfoot program within the approved annual budget and strategic operational plan.
  3. Undertake regular planning and program review with the Program Manager and in cooperation with the Regional Program Officer (RPO) Clinical, as needed.
  4. Provide regular reports on clinical services to the clinical team lead on Clinical, and other identified partners within the agreed-upon and established timeframes and report formats.
  5. Facilitate ongoing training, workshops, and seminars for clinicians on the correct management of clubfoot with the Ponseti method, including patient documentation
  6. Provide supervision and mentoring of Ponseti providers, putting in place strategies to ensure high-quality treatment
  7. Actively monitor reports as forwarded by clinic coordinators and Parent Advisors, and address any issues or concerns.
  8. Actively develop and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations, partners, and entities to ensure local ownership of and commitment to the Hope Walks program.
  9. Actively work with the Program Manager and the Regional Program Officer Clinical to ensure collaboration and alignment of activities.
  10. Activity monitor clinical treatment provided in Hope Walks associated clubfoot clinics, and assist in solving any challenges, seeking appropriate support from the Program Manager and Regional Program Officer Clinical, as needed.
  11. Create and educate networks for sensitization, awareness raising, early detection, and patient referral
  12. Create and educate networks to support patient treatment, follow-up, and compliance
  13. Prepare case stories for donors and other stakeholders.
  14. Lead the management of supply logistics and monitor appropriate usage in clinics
  15. Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting by clinicians and clinic coordinators, and prepare and submit data and narrative reports as required
  16. Provide advice on clinical program quarter budgetary needs to the Program Manager, to incorporate into quarterly spending requests.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and other health profession
  2. Required language: English and fluency in at least one language relevant to the region
  3. A minimum of three years experience and demonstrated competence in the Ponseti Method of clubfoot treatment
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide teaching and training of clinical skills
  5. Prior supervisory background

  2. Good interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal.

  4. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work semi-independently and solve problems.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in computer-based skills, including Microsoft Office products, Google Drive, and GSuite.
