Job Description

Background

The Federation of Ethiopian Associations of Persons with Disabilities (FEAPD) is a national cross-disability umbrella organization and the recognized voice of persons with disabilities in Ethiopia. FEAPD works to promote and protect the rights, dignity, and well-being of persons with disabilities and to advance inclusivity and equal opportunities across all sectors.

FEAPD operates in 12 regions and 2 city administrations and represents 38 member associations. With over 29 years of experience, FEAPD is a leading and credible organization in disability inclusion, advocacy, policy engagement, and awareness creation. FEAPD collaborates closely with organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and government institutions to promote meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in development processes.

Awareness creation is a core strategy of FEAPD to address stigma, reduce attitudinal barriers, and promote disability rights. In line with this mandate, FEAPD intends to print and distribute accessible awareness creation materials in multiple formats to ensure inclusive communication for persons with diverse disabilities.

Objective of the Assignment

The objective of this call is to engage qualified and experienced printing firms to print accessible awareness creation materials in different formats that meet high-quality and accessibility standards.

Scope of Work

The selected printing firm(s) will be responsible for designing and printing the following awareness creation materials based on content to be provided by FEAPD:

1. Awareness Booklet (in Amharic, English and Tigrigna versions)
  • Paper size: A5
  • Paper Type: Glossy
  • Number of pages: 16 inside pages plus cover pages
  • Color: Full color
  • Paper weight: 100 grams for content page and 250 gram for cover pages.
  • Binding: Stapled
  • Content focus: Disability rights, inclusion, participation, and key advocacy messages
2. Easy-to-Read Materials (in Amharic, English and Tigrigna versions)
  • Paper size: A3
  • Paper type: Glossy
  • Design: Large images with simple and clear messages
  • Color: Full color
  • Paper weight: 250 grams
  • Target audience: Persons with intellectual disabilities, persons with low literacy levels, and the wider community
3. Braille Materials
  • Format: Braille printing
  • Length: It is determined based on the Sixteen pages of A5 paper
  • Content: Adapted from the awareness booklet to ensure consistency of messages
  • Requirement: Standard Braille formatting and high-quality embossing

Expected Outputs

  • Printed awareness booklets, easy-to-read materials, and Braille materials that meet the specified technical and accessibility requirements.
  • High-quality printing with clear text, accurate colors, and durable finishing.
  • Timely delivery of all printed materials to FEAPD officesu

Eligibility and Qualifications of Printing Firms

Interested printing firms should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally registered business with a valid trade license.
  • Proven experience in professional printing services.
  • Demonstrated capacity to print full-color materials and Braille documents.
  • Ability to deliver the required quantities within the agreed timeline.
  • Prior experience working with disability related NGOs or development organizations is an advantage.
Submission Requirements

Interested firms are invited to submit the following:

  • Technical proposal describing printing capacity and experience.
  • Financial quotation with a detailed cost breakdown per item.
  • Copy of valid business license and relevant legal documents.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Proposals will be evaluated based on:
  • Compliance with the technical specifications.
  • Cost-effectiveness of the financial proposal.
  • Experience and capacity of the firm.

Submission Deadline and Address

  • The bid documents should only be in hard copies, and shall be submitted at the address below within 7 calendar days counting from the day the bid is advertised and will be closed on 20 January 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Bids will be opened with or without the presence of the bidders or legal representatives assigned by the organization at FEAPD HQ, HR Office on January 21 / 2026 : 9:30 a.m.
