Job Title: Data Collector /Enumerator

Duty Station: Field-based (in different regions of the country).

Duration of contract : one month but to be kept in roster for future potential opportunities.

Required number: Oromia 50, Amhara 50, Tigray 25, Somali 25, Afar 25, Sidama 25 Wolaita 25, Gambella 10 and Benishngule 10

Job Summary

The enumerator /data collector will be responsible for conducting surveys with selected study participants according to the approved sampling plan and data collection protocol. The enumerator may also assist with identifying study participants, scheduling /conducting interviews, and supporting logistical coordination where necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering structured questionnaires using the designated digital data collection platform (e.g., CommCare).
  • Ensuring that all study participants provide informed consent before participating in the survey.
  • Conducting interviews in a professional, respectful, and neutral manner.
  • Ensuring accurate and complete recording of responses in the digital survey tool.
  • Uploading completed surveys in a timely manner according to project guidelines.
  • Reporting any challenges or inconsistencies encountered during fieldwork to supervisors.
  • Supporting pilot testing of the survey tools during the training phase.
  • Adhering to all data protection, safeguarding, and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/BA) in Health Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, anthropology, Education and Public Health or related disciplines.
  • . This group often brings strong familiarity with digital data collection tools and fieldwork practices while remaining well suited to the intensive fieldwork schedules required during survey implementation.
  • CGPA: 3.25 and Above
  • Exit exam result: 65% & above

Work Experience

  • ideally early to mid-career field researchers, typically with up to six years of experience in survey data collection or field research
  • Experience in household data collection is desirable.
  • Strong familiarity with digital data collection tools and fieldwork practices, “using CommCare Software is preferred.
  • Youth below the age of 35 are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to work in remote and rural areas when necessary.
  • Commitment to collecting quality data in difficult situations

  • Local language skill is must
