Internal/ External Vacancy Announcement

  • Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an indigenous, not-for-profit; a nongovernmental humanitarian organization established in 1998. It has been serving disadvantaged and marginalized segments of the community especially youth, women children in the areas of Reproductive Health HIV/AIDs Prevention and Care, Child Protection, Women Development, and Livelihood and Food Securities for the last 25 years.
  • Currently, PADet implementing Youth Livelihood/ employment creation project in Wagemra (Sahila woreda) and South Gondar (“Tach Gayent”, “Lay Gayent” and Simada woredas) zones of Amhara Region and would like to recruit a qualified on the following job opportunity.

Job Summary;

  • Direct and coordinate program area office activities through the development of annual action plans, effective project tracking, budget tracking and reporting (including project budgets), monitoring and evaluation as specified in PADet’s strategic plan and management document and agreement signed with the donor partner.

Responsibilities;

  • Coordinate & follow up the overall project activities
  • Make sure the all-training materials, market assessments reports are properly prepared
  • Advise & supervise the district level ‘Employment Officers’ and ‘Training and Coaching Facilitators’
  • Monitor the implementation of projects
  • Prepare reports, good practices documents and monitoring report for donor and government signatory offices and other stakeholders.
  • Create strong partnership with respective regional bureaus, TEVTs and private sectors (Training institutions and finance sectors especially micro finance institutions)
  • Work with different market system actors to established /strengthen youth referral to input, products market systems
  • Closely work with government pertinent actors to make sure the functionality of the YES hub and digital youth information system
  • Manage budget according to the plan and support the finance team

Job Requirements

Education qualification, experience & skill:   
  • MA/MSc in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Sociology or other related science and social science fields with three years’ service or BSc / BA holder and at least served four-years in similar or related position in development or civil society organizations.
  • Experienced in implementing youth employment and income generating activities
  • Has a STAR (Situation, Task, Activity and Response) ability and competency.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft basics and internet (MS Word, Excel, Access and Power point);
  • Skill in project formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Leadership & supervision skill
  • Proven report writing and communication skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizing and making logical and timely decision skills
  • NGO experience is advantageous
Personal Competency:
  • Highly motivated, self-managed and Strategic oriented;
  • High level commitment to achieve project goal and Objectives;
  • Willingness to work extra working hours and weekends with staffs;
  • Able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to prepare and submit quality reports timely;
