About Financial Innovation for Impact

Financial Innovation for Impact (Fii) is an international, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of scalable, sustainable, and evidencebased financial and regulatory innovation. We work with academic institutions, digital finance ecosystem partners, and other stakeholders to create knowledge and apply data-driven insights to inform the development of fintech and the decision-making of central banks, securities regulators, and other financial authorities. Fii generates research, develops digital tools, and delivers capacity building at scale through technical assistance programmes to benefit financially excluded, marginalised, and disadvantaged populations.

About the Women Regulators Network

The Women Regulators Network (WRN) is one of Fii’s flagship initiatives: a digital community connecting women regulators and policymakers worldwide to build peer learning, leadership development, and knowledge exchange in financial regulation. It operates through the Regulator Knowledge Exchange (RKE), Fii’s peer-led, community-driven platform for public and financial authorities, which brings together almost 3,000 members from more than 140 countries; women regulators make up almost half of that membership.

The WRN is guided by a Leadership Council, co-chaired by Her Excellency Fatma Abdulla Al Jabri (Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates) and Christina R. Rolle (Securities Commission of The Bahamas), which meets quarterly to set the network’s priorities and areas of focus. The WRN operates from, and reports to, Fii’s Technical Assistance Directorate.

Objectives

• Fostering community through peer learning, mentorship, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.
• Enhancing leadership capacity and increasing women’s visibility and influence in financial regulation and policymaking.
• Facilitating knowledge exchange through tailored resources, events, and discussion forums for women regulators.

The Role

We are seeking a WRN Secretariat Coordinator to take on secretariat responsibilities for the Women Regulators Network on a rotational, voluntary 12-month secondment.

The role covers five areas. You will schedule and support the Leadership Council’s quarterly meetings; produce the content and documentation the Council relies on, from agendas to programme outputs; act as the day-to-day point of contact for Council members and Fii’s internal teams; coordinate Council meetings and related engagements across multiple time zones; and help track progress against the WRN’s Communications Plan.

This is a practical, delivery-focused role that calls for comfort operating across time zones and confidence engaging senior regulators, including the WRN’s Governor and Deputy Governor level Co-Chairs. It is open to any candidate who meets the person specification below; the role does not need to be filled by a woman.

Responsibilities

Council & Governance Support

• Schedule and coordinate the WRN Leadership Council’s quarterly meetings, liaising directly with Council members and the Co-Chairs at Governor and Deputy Governor level.
• Work with the Co-Chairs and WRN Head to develop agendas that bring current, relevant topics to each Council meeting.
• Author Council agendas, minutes, and papers for review, circulation, and approval, and issue invitations to guests joining Council sessions.
• Draft guidance notes and scripts for the Co-Chairs, and provide live support during Council meetings.
• Lead the annual review of the WRN’s Terms of Reference and Communications Plan, and monitor ongoing compliance with the Terms of Reference throughout the secondment.

Content & Collateral

• Contribute to WRN programme outputs, including webinars, podcasts, research papers, and technical assistance programmes, working alongside Fii’s technical and communications teams.
• Update the RKE’s Council spaces with relevant documentation, including agendas, minutes, and reports, so the Council’s record stays current and accessible to members.

Relationship Management

• Act as the day-to-day point of contact for Leadership Council members, maintaining the relationships and trust that keep Council business moving between quarterly meetings.
• Liaise with Fii personnel, including the Technical Assistance Directorate and Communications team, to keep WRN activity aligned with wider organisational priorities.

Engagement & Convening Support

• Coordinate quarterly Council meetings end to end across multiple time zones, including scheduling, logistics, and materials.
• Support WRN engagement on social media alongside Fii’s Communications team, helping extend the network’s visibility and reach.

Internal Coordination & Reporting

• Track progress against the WRN’s annual Communications Plan and help ensure its goals and objectives are measured effectively.
• Handle Council and member information in line with Fii’s data protection policies and GDPR, given the WRN’s membership across more than 140 countries.

Requirements

Essential

• Currently working in financial inclusion, consumer protection, or gender-intentional policymaking within a public sector authority, regulator, or development agency.
• Professional standard written and spoken fluency in English.
• Availability for 2 to 3 days per month over a 12-month secondment, with the flexibility to support Council meetings scheduled across multiple time zones, typically including a recurring slot around 1pm BST.
• Sound judgement in handling relationships with senior stakeholders, including Governor and Deputy Governor level Council members, and in representing the WRN professionally in correspondence and in person.
• Confident use of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Understanding of data protection obligations relevant to handling international member and Council information, including GDPR.

Desirable

• Familiarity with financial services policy, research, outreach programme development, or communications and diplomatic relations.
• Comfortable being active on social media, working alongside Fii’s Communications team, to help extend the WRN’s visibility.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF)/Fii Regulator Knowledge Exchange (RKE) platform.
• Experience organising or supporting governance meetings, such as boards, councils, or committees, involving senior stakeholders.
