ROLE PURPOSE:
The incumbent of this position represents Save the Children values and principles in interactions with staff and external audiences. In response to the ongoing P&G Project: Increased and safer access to gender-sensitive and socially inclusive basic WASH services, humanitarian actors are providing assistance and alleviate the suffering of the people and Increased and safer access to gender-sensitive and socially inclusive basic WASH services based response that integrates WASH in Moyale operational area, somali region Ethiopia.
The program intends to improve access to safe water, hygienic behaviors and supplies for children & families living in drought affected areas with limited protected water sources. The response comprise of supply of 5,000,000 household water treatment chemicals(Purr), basic hygiene supplies(WaSH NFIs) to most vulnerable1,000HHs & dignity/MHM kits to 250 women. The program also strives to improve the hygiene behavior of the community through training of front workers & HEWs to disseminate key hygiene messages as well as demonstration of water treatment chemicals usage
The post holder will be responsible for overall community mobilization and engagement, timely planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and review of the project. The post holder will specifically oversee the Emergency Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) components of the Moyale for its successful implementation according to approved donor and government agreements. It will also ensure that the human, material and financial resources of the project are well managed in line with plan financial, grant management and other approved guidelines in close collaboration with the project and other team members. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

BA / BSc Degree or more in Water Engineering, Environmental Health, Sanitary Engineering, Hydraulics and Water Resource Development and other related fields
