Location: Amhara, Ethiopia
Organization: Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
Deadline: November 11, 2026, 01:55 AM
NRC Ethiopia is seeking an experienced and results-driven WASH & Shelter Project Manager to join our team in the Gonder Area Office. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled humanitarian professional to lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and delivery of high-impact WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and Shelter interventions that improve the lives of crisis-affected communities across NRC’s areas of operation.
You will provide strategic and technical leadership throughout the entire project cycle, from needs assessments and response design to proposal development, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. You will ensure that all interventions are delivered to a high standard of quality, safety, appropriateness, and sustainability while maintaining strong financial oversight and accountability. The role also includes managing and mentoring project teams, strengthening staff capacity, and fostering meaningful community engagement and participation.
Working closely with authorities, donors, partners, and humanitarian coordination platforms, you will play a key role in resource mobilization, programme development, and strategic engagement. You will ensure that WASH and Shelter responses remain responsive to evolving humanitarian needs while integrating protection principles, gender, age and disability inclusion, environmental sustainability, and disaster risk reduction. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing needs, developing concept notes and project proposals, managing budgets, providing technical guidance, and driving measurable outcomes that enhance the resilience and well-being of affected populations.
