VSF-SUISSE – Invitation to Bid for the Supply of Bajaj cargo carrier motorcycle

Background

VSF-Suisse is an independent humanitarian and development organization with a longstanding presence in Ethiopia, working to improve the livelihoods of pastoral and agro-pastoral communities through livestock-centered interventions.

Currently, VSF-Suisse is implementing a World Food Programme (WFP)-funded project titled “Strengthening the Resilience of Vulnerable Groups in the Context of Desert Locust Infestation in Ethiopia.” The project targets the Harshin and Mula districts in the Fafen Zone and the Erer district in the Sitti Zone of the Somali Region.

A key intervention of this project is procuring a total of 3 Bajaj cargo carrier motorcycles (8-10 quintal carrying capacity) to assist and support the cooperatives with farm products for collective selling and improved market position.

VSF-Suisse hereby invites eligible and competent Bajaj production sellers operating in and around the target zones to submit sealed bids for the supply and delivery of 3 high-quality Bajaj cargo carrier motorcycle per the technical specifications included in the tender document.

Eligibility Criteria for Bidders

Interested Bajaj suppliers must fulfill the following requirements to be considered eligible:

1. Legal Registration: Must have legal documents
2. Valid License: Possess a renewed license for the Ethiopian year 2017 E.C.
3. Tax Compliance: Hold a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) certificate.
4. Bank Account: Maintain an active bank account
5. Payment Records: Provide official, signed, and stamped payment receipts.
6. Financial Capacity: Demonstrate financial capacity to procure and deliver the required number of Bajaj motorcycles
7. Timely Delivery: Commit to delivering the Bajaj within 3 calendar days from the contract award date.
8. Selection Capacity: Have the capacity to identify and supply Bajaj cargo carrier motorcycle

Important Notice to Bidders

• Bid Document Collection: Interested suppliers may collect the detailed bidding documents through paying 100 birrs from the VSF-Suisse Addis Ababa office, starting from the date of this announcement for 5 consecutive working days.
• Bid Submission: Completed bids, including all required documents, must be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the supplier official stamp and delivered to the VSF-Suisse Addis Ababa office.
• Bid Opening: Bids will be opened in public on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM (Morning), at the VSF-Suisse Addis Ababa Office in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives.
• Representation: If a bidder cannot attend, a signed delegation letter must accompany the bid documents.
• Right to Reject: VSF-Suisse reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, without justifying.
• Delivery Deadline: The Bajaj must be delivered within 3 days of contract award.
