Video Production of Successes of ELM Project by way of Storytelling

Organizational Background

Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is an Ethiopian Development Organization established in 2005 and reregistered at Agency for Civil Society Organizations as an Ethiopian development Organization with a Certificate № 0321 under the Proc. № 1113/2019. ECDD is working with other organizations to promote and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and disability issues in mainstream service delivery and development programs envisioning an Inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities exercise the same rights and have access to the same services and opportunities enjoyed by other citizens.

Currently, ECDD is implementing a project entitled “Every Life Matters (ELM)” funded by the SeeYou Foundation to increase access and utilization of Eye Care and SRH services among persons with disabilities by building the capacities of institutions, key decision-makers, and SRH service providers, Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) workers and persons with disabilities and their organizations. As part of the implementation of the project, ECDD is looking for competent and experienced media that can capture and produce the successes of the ELM/SRH and Eye Care Project in Debre Markos town and its Surrounding areas.

Objectives

The following are the objectives of the task:

·       To capture and produce successes of the ELM Project by way of video story telling in Debre Markos and its surroundings, including the physical accessibility modifications, the progress of OPDs, and the roles of Stakeholders of the Project such as persons with disabilities, and SRH service providers within 25 – 30 minutes.

·       To capture and produce the best stories of ELM project beneficiaries in a way that can teach others.

Scope of the Work

·       Capture and produce successes of the ELM Project in Debre Markos Town

by way of video storytelling with an English subtitle and Sign Language

Qualifications of the Consultant

Media companies/houses and individual media professionals with the following competencies/skills and capacities are eligible to apply for this service.

·       A minimum of 7 years’ experience in developing documentary production in similar areas.

·       Strong background in developing documentary production with sign language interpretations and can show a minimum of 5 videos upon request.

·       Profound knowledge and experience in disability issues.

5. Selection Criteria

The Technical and Financial Proposals will account for 70% and 30% respectively of the selection criteria, broken down as follows:

6. Schedule of Payment

·       First Installment of 40% of the amount upon signing the Contract

·       Final Installment of 60% of the amount upon submission and acceptance of the documentary production by ECDD, upon receipt of the final invoice from the Consultant.

·       Taxes will be deducted and paid by ECDD according to government rules.

7. Application Requirements

Submission of Proposals

Interested and qualified organizations or individuals may send their technical and financial proposals, along with the following information:

1.    Profile, with background on expertise and professional experience of the organization or a detailed CV of an individual media professional

·         Applicants have to submit proposals for the program.

2.    Technical Proposal consisting of:

A)    Period needed for completion of the total assignment

3.    Financial proposal:  Indicate the price with a detailed budget of payment.

4.    Copy of renewed Registration Certificate, License, or Work Permit
