Job Purpose:

Reliable operations and supply of utilities section. when necessary, execute tasks deemed important for the business as requested by the immediate supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes/operates utilities in a Safeway.
  • Reports unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, near misses and high potential near misses and take the lead to investigate the high potential near misses initiate analysis for high position safety tags.
  • Takes part in the ORR team to reduce operational risk.
  • Follow all local, national and internation safety regulations and standards.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training to stay updated on best practices and emergency procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety by encouraging safe work practices among team members.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all utility operations, especially those related to water, steam generation, CO2 recovery and compressed air.
  • Implement and execute regular cleaning and maintenance schedules to prevent contamination.
  • Adhere to food safety standards such as HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control point).
  • Makes equipment safe to work on and guards’ safety during work.
  • Executes/operates Utilities work according to required quality specifications.
  • Adhere to all local, national and internation quality standards.
  • Cleans, verifies, and calibrates inline measuring instruments.
  • Operates and controls various utilities equipment and machineries, including pumps, fans, and compressors to provide uninterrupted supply to production at optimum level of performance.
  • Runs technical support checks and operations anomalies, i.e. vibration monitoring, pressure checks, blow downs, lubrication checks, etc.
  • Works closely with other team members and departments to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Make sure readiness of stand by equipment’s, clean parts and -tools.
  • Identifies anomalies and tags.
  • Manages work permit / installation handover for utilities.
  • Collects and register energy, water, and other utilities consumptions.
  • Initiate BDA and reports red alarms that help in MTBA deployment.
  • Performs routine checks, repairs and minor maintenance on equipment and systems.
  • Works together with the Utilities Zone Technician and reports to the Utilities Manager.
  • Supports all Utilities maintenance jobs.
  • Recovers equipment from fault conditions into standard condition.
  • Champions SFE.
  • Participate and engage well on APM role out.
  • Validates solution for breakdowns.
  • Initiate and Participate BDA and RCFA (5 why)
  • Validates repairs in Utilities section and take over from maintenance team
  • Creates Utilities breakdown WO’s with the required quality, hence ensuring proper BDA and -follow-up for future improvement.
  • Registration of alarms and Touches.
  • Records energy and water data.
  • Registration and trending of triggering points
  • Uses one-2-Improve to raise tag and initiate BDA
  • Keep record of parameter in new installation that help in performance guarantee.

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • >2 years of working experience within utilities.
  • General knowledge of maintenance and good knowledge of operations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s in chemical engineering or related
Required Skills
  • Food Science, or Chemical Engineering
