Job Description

Background

Reach for Change (RFC) is a nonprofit, non-governmental international organization headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. RFC operates in 11 countries globally, including three in Africa. Registered in Ethiopia in 2015 (Registration No. 3419), RFC’s mission is to improve the lives of young women and children by empowering local social entrepreneurs to develop and scale innovative, sustainable solutions.

As part of its country strategy, RFC is implementing the Building Waste and Circular Enterprises in Ethiopia (BWCE) project, supporting entrepreneurs in waste management and the circular economy. The program includes the Green Innovation Lab (GIL) and Green Business Incubator (GBI), which together aim to enhance green enterprise competitiveness, job creation, and environmental sustainability.

To further strengthen participants’ investment readiness and business presentation capacity, RFC intends to engage a qualified consultant or firm to deliver a hands-on, practical pitch training that equips entrepreneurs with the skills and materials needed to confidently present their ventures to investors, partners, and ecosystem actors.

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to equip selected social entrepreneurs with investment-ready pitch decks and the confidence to deliver effective, compelling, and structured investor pitches.
The consultant will provide practical, experiential training combined with individualized feedback and pitch-deck development support, culminating in a live or simulated pitch practice session.

Specific Objectives

The consulting firm/individual will:

  • Deliver interactive, practical pitch training sessions focused on storytelling, business modeling, and investor communication.
  • Support each participant to develop or refine a professional pitch deck that meets investor standards.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to help participants tailor their pitches to their audience (investors, partners, or grant committees).
  • Facilitate mock pitch sessions with feedback from coaches and invited reviewers.
  • Strengthen participants’ understanding of investment readiness, including financial projections, traction, and impact metrics.

Scope of Work

The consultant is expected to:

1. Design a short, intensive, and practical training program (2–3 days) covering:

  • Essentials of an effective pitch (structure, content, and storytelling).
  • Investor expectations and QEA handling.
  • Visual and data presentation using the pitch deck.
  • Understanding financial and impact metrics from an investor’s lens.

2. Provide a pitch deck template and guide tailored to green and circular economy businesses.

3. Deliver individualized pitch-deck review sessions for each participant (GIL and GBI entrepreneurs).

4. Facilitate a final pitch practice session where participants present to a mock panel for feedback.

5. Submit a final report summarizing session content, participation, progress, and recommendations for follow-up coaching.

5. Deliverables

  • Training agenda and materials (slides, templates, and exercises).
  • Completed, investment-ready pitch decks for all participants.
  • Report on individual progress and recommendations.
  • Documentation of mock pitch session (photos, notes, and feedback summaries).

Final summary report (including evaluation results and lessons learned).

6. Duration and Location

  • Duration: Up to 4 weeks (including preparation, delivery, and reporting).
  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (in-person training, with virtual follow-up support as needed).

About You

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in investment readiness training, pitch coaching, and startup acceleration.
  • Demonstrated success supporting startups to prepare for investment or demo days.
  • Strong understanding of impact-driven and green enterprise
  • Experience using storytelling, design, and data visualization tools for pitch-deck preparation.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English (Amharic proficiency is an asset).

How to Apply

Expected Participants

The training will engage:

Green Innovation Lab (GIL) participants transitioning from MVP validation to market entry.

Total participants: approximately 34 social entrepreneurs.

Evaluation Criteria and Weights

Proposals will be evaluated on a total of 100 points, divided into Technical (70 points, 70%) and Financial (30 points, 30%) components. A minimum technical score of 70% is required for consideration.

Note: Only proposals scoring at least 49 points out of 70 in the technical evaluation will be considered for financial evaluation. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
