Deadline: April 7, 2025

Job Description

TIMRAN is a civil society organization established to enhance women’s participation in politics and public decision-making processes. TIMRAN’s vision is to see Ethiopia as a country where women take their legitimate space in public decision-making and the nation’s political affairs. Our mission is to work towards the enhancement of Ethiopian women’s active engagement in political and public leadership to ensure their constitutional right to equal participation in the nation’s political, social, and economic undertakings. TIMRAN is operating in all regions of Ethiopia with an office in Addis Ababa.

Position Summary

TIMRAN was officially launched in March 2020, and March 2025 marks her fifth year of establishment. Every year, TIMRAN celebrates her anniversary internally, with some public announcements on social media. However, the major celebration is planned for the fifth year, as reaching five years of operation is a significant milestone. It is a time to celebrate achievements, reflect on challenges and gaps, and engage both existing and potential partners.

As part of the fifth-year celebration, one key activity is to assess TIMRAN’s impact over the past five years. To accomplish this, an independent consultant will be engaged to conduct a detailed, data-driven, and analytical report that highlights the impact of TIMRAN during this period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine the strategic goals, annual reports, performance reviews, and any other relevant documents from the past five years.
  • Conduct interviews or surveys with internal and external stakeholders such as staff, partners, and beneficiaries to gather feedback on the perceived impact of TIMRAN’s initiative.
  • Review social media posts and press releases to assess how TIMRAN is perceived by the broader community and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of TIMRAN’s initiatives, programs, or projects over the past years, including how effectively TIMRAN achieved its goals.
  • Highlight any areas where TIMRAN may not have fully achieved its objectives, and analyze the root causes of those challenges.
  • Prepare a comprehensive impact report and a presentation summarizing the key findings, insights, and recommendations for TIMRAN’s leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Offer actionable recommendations for how TIMRAN can address identified gaps based on the impact assessment.
  • Work closely with TIMRAN’s leadership and staff.

  • Ability to not only assess what has been achieved but also critically analyze the factors influencing success or failure and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to synthesize complex findings and present them in an easily digestible format for board members, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Amharic and English is required. Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages is an advantage.
