Job Description
Theme: “Inclusion is for Everyone”
1. Background
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2025 marks an important opportunity to spotlight disability inclusion and promote societies where no one is left behind. Many youth with disabilities in Africa still face barriers to employment, services, and full social participation.
Light for the World Ethiopia, through the We Can Work programme, is contributing to the global campaign “Inclusion is for Everyone.” The campaign uses creative photo and video storytelling to challenge stereotypes, highlight lived experiences, and position youth with disabilities as solution-oriented members of their communities.
For Ethiopia, the IDPD 2025 activation focuses on producing a short visual storytelling package featuring the lived experience, challenges, and strengths of a selected youth with a disability. The content will align with the continental “Imagine if…” prompts and the “Redesign Our World” call to action.
2. Objective
To produce a powerful visual storytelling package that:
- Role models inclusion in action through authentic lived experiences.
- Aligns with the continental IDPD 2025 message: “Inclusion is for Everyone.”
- Challenges societal perceptions by showcasing solutions and inclusive possibilities.
- Generates high-quality campaign-ready content for national and global communication channels.
3. Scope of Work
A. Pre-Production
- Participate in an inception/briefing meeting with LFTW Ethiopia’s Communications and WCW teams.
- Review the campaign key messages and creative prompts (“Imagine if…”) to guide visual direction.
- Prepare a production plan, shot list, and schedule.
B. Production (Field Work)
The creative team is expected to capture:
- 4 high-quality photographs (minimum 300 MP).
- Four 90-second video reels, optimized for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Scenes reflecting:
- daily life of the featured youth with disability,
- barriers encountered and inclusive solutions,
- scenario-based visuals inspired by “Imagine if…” prompts.
- Ensure representation, respect, and dignity of the participant at all times.
C. post-production
- Edit and color-correct the 4 final photographs.
- Produce and finalize one 90-second video reel, with:
- subtitles,
- clean audio,
- campaign branding (LFTW + WCW).
- Write captions/narrative text for each photo and for the video.
- Provide all raw photos, raw footage, and final edited versions.
- Prepare a simple 4-page layout (optional, if requested) to accompany the photo set.
4. Deliverables
A. Visual Assets
- 4 high-resolution edited photographs (300 MP+).
- Four 90-second edited video reels.
- All raw files (photos and video).
B. Editorial & Layout Outputs
- Short captions/narrative text for each photo and the video.
- A print-ready mini 4-page photo layout (only if requested by LFTW).

About You
6. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Proven experience in documentary photography and short-form video storytelling.
- Experience working on social justice, disability inclusion, or human rights themes.
- Capacity to produce emotionally compelling narratives and high-quality visuals.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively with LFTW teams.
- Office suites (MS Office, iWork)
- Adaptability
