Business Unit Description

Smart Mobility is Kifiya’s digital mobility infrastructure venture designed to modernize passenger transport systems through intelligent digital platforms, marketplace coordination, and data driven operational oversight.

The platform enables transport operators, regulators, fleet owners, and passengers to participate in a unified digital mobility ecosystem that improves efficiency, transparency, safety, and accessibility of transport services.

Position Summary

The Terminal Accountant is responsible for managing all financial transactions and revenue reconciliation activities at the assigned Smart Mobility terminal.

The role ensures that ticket sales revenue, including both cash and digital transactions, is accurately recorded, reconciled, and securely deposited in accordance with financial control procedures.

The Terminal Accountant works closely with terminal operations staff, ticket sales agents, and finance teams to maintain strict internal controls, detect discrepancies, and ensure financial transparency within terminal operations.

Through disciplined financial management, the role safeguards the revenue integrity of the Smart Mobility platform.

Key Responsibilities

Ticket Revenue Reconciliation

• Collect and reconcile daily ticket sales revenue from Terminal Ticket Sales Agents.
• Verify that cash collected matches system generated ticket sales records.
• Investigate discrepancies between physical cash and ticketing system reports.
• Ensure reconciliation documentation is properly recorded and signed.

Cash and Change Fund Management

• Distribute and manage change funds required for ticket sales operations.
• Ensure availability of appropriate denominations to support ticket transactions.
• Monitor the use of change funds and ensure proper end of day reconciliation.
• Securely collect and store all cash received from ticket sales operations.

Bank Deposit and Financial Safeguarding

• Ensure all collected revenue is securely stored and deposited in accordance with company financial policies.
• Prepare bank deposits for daily ticket sales revenue.
• Maintain secure handling and transportation of cash deposits.
• Ensure deposits are accurately recorded in financial records.

Digital Transaction Reconciliation

• Reconcile electronic ticket sales including mobile payments, digital wallets, or other platform-based transactions.
• Ensure digital transaction records align with ticketing system reports.
• Report discrepancies in electronic payment transactions to the finance team.

Financial Control and Fraud Prevention

• Conduct surprise cash counts and spot checks on ticket sales agents.
• Identify suspicious financial activity or repeated discrepancies.
• Escalate potential fraud risks or financial irregularities to management.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal financial control procedures.

Financial Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare daily reconciliation reports and terminal financial summaries.
• Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, deposits, refunds, and discrepancies.
• Submit financial reports to the central finance department.
• Ensure documentation is complete and audit ready.

Operational Coordination

• Coordinate closely with terminal managers and ticket sales supervisors to ensure financial procedures are followed.
• Support terminal staff in resolving ticket sales reconciliation issues.
• Ensure proper financial handling during staff shift changes.
• Provide guidance on financial procedures and compliance requirements.

• Accurate reconciliation of all ticket sales transactions across the terminal.
• Secure and timely deposit of daily ticket sales revenue.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 0 – 1 year experience in accounting, financial operations, or cash management roles.
• Experience in ticketing systems, retail financial operations, or transport services is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial transactions accurately.
