Job Description

Overview

Pharo Foundation is a mission-driven, impact-oriented organisation dedicated to fostering a vibrant, productive, and self-reliant Africa. Our efforts focus on education, water, and productivity, with education being our primary investment area.

Education is at the heart of our strategy and a significant share of our funding is allocated to the education mission. We believe that quality education is the cornerstone of sustainable development and societal transformation. Therefore, we are deeply committed to providing high-quality, affordable education that empowers students to become productive citizens in a rapidly changing world. Our investment in education is not just financial, it’s a commitment to unlocking potential and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Pharo Schools is a growing network of seven educational institutions established by the Pharo Foundation, currently serving over 4,000 students across Somaliland, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Rwanda.

At Pharo Schools, we are driven by a deep belief in equity and access to quality education. We are committed to transforming the education ecosystem through diverse, impactful approaches—bringing solutions to where they are most needed. Our portfolio spans a wide range of contexts, from a fully funded all-girls boarding high school in rural Ethiopia to a low-cost primary school with over 2,000 students in the heart of Nairobi, Kenya.

Each of our schools is envisioned as a centre of excellence, nurturing academic achievement, character development, and holistic growth. With secured capital allocation for the next decade, Pharo Schools is positioned for significant expansion and long-term impact across the region.

Pharo Foundation’s education mission is to deliver high-quality, accessible education that empowers the next generation of African leaders. As we continue to grow our footprint in Ethiopia, Somaliland, Rwanda, and Kenya, we are building a team of passionate, driven educators and leaders committed to academic excellence and meaningful transformation. Together, we aim to raise well-rounded, thoughtful, and productive global citizens.
