To provide support for the development of all staff to acquire and develop the relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies to enhance their performance in their current role and, where they are involved in succession planning in line with the delivery of Oxfam strategy, for their next role taking into account the needs of the individuals and where possible the career aspirations of staff as well as the success of their departments to ensure that staff are well developed

JOB PURPOSE:

The Talent Management Coordinator is responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of the learning and development activities of Oxfam Ethiopia, which includes a full range of soft skills learning programs. The position holder is also responsible for performance management, conducting talent reviews, and onboarding new employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the creation, implementation, and management of Talent Management plans and solutions in order to achieve strategic business initiatives.
  • Partner with their Line managers, and HR to define and establish a long-term talent strategy that may include identifying critical jobs, determining talent gaps, assessing internal as well as external availability, and developing long-term plans to bridge the gaps.
  • Lead the development, implementation, facilitation, analysis, and reporting of employee engagement practices; partner with HRBPs and other stakeholders to identify and manage action plans.
  • Manage and deliver annual, bi-annual, and life-cycle employee listening strategies to include survey deployment and results in analysis and socialization.
  • Develop and implement impactful manager and employee enablement initiatives post-survey to facilitate organization-wide action management and continued visibility of to impact employee voice has on business planning and strategy development.
  • Contribute to the development and facilitation of training related to employee listening and engagement.
  • Conduct focus groups, engagements, and interviews with various levels of stakeholders to gather input for program design and enhancements.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality communication materials for staff and managers across all levels of Oxfam GB in Ethiopia.
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned by the line manager
  • Lead the development of all soft skills training, including career development activities to support our talent management
  • Leads in ensuring that L&D is maximized by measuring the impact of training programs and ensuring that learning is shared across the organization
  • Develops and supports a performance management culture and ensures the compliance of line managers with the Oxfam Performance Management cycle, providing support through the provision of communications, training, materials, and reminders, and records performance review results on HRMIS
  • Ensures high-quality agreed-upon objectives with their line managers set for each employee through facilitation of objective setting workshops and training materials for staff and line managers in a timely manner, either at the beginning of each year or at the beginning of a contract
  • Audits the alignment of objectives across all functions in the response program to ensure that they demonstrate clear links to wider organizational objectives and that they are relevant for performance management purposes
  • Develops and coordinates a comprehensive induction program for all new staff, and in particular, is responsible for the delivery of effective HR training for staff in scale-up situations
  • Promotes and coordinates coaching and mentoring training programs.
  • Support the whole recruitment process for National and International Staff, from advertisement and selection, through contract, to support and briefing for the start of employment and focal person for Emergency recruitments.

Essential

  • University Degree/Master’s in management, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Business Management or related field of study
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience for BA holders and 4 years of relevant experience for MA holders in Human Resources activities with a focus on staff development, Capacity Building or staff training.
  • Proven expertise in leading HR/talent management practices, especially employee engagement practices and approaches including measuring employee engagement via surveys and driving engagement via action management.
  • Experience in conducting training need assessments, job analysis, appraisal schemes, e-learning methods
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills including the ability to conduct training on human resources, management, and leadership.
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to provide reports, analyse data, draw conclusions and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • High level of proficiency in problem-solving, critical thinking, analysing complex situations and absorbing considerable amounts of data to identify key themes and identify actionable insights that lead to effective solutions and recommendations.
  • Capacity to work respecting deadlines and under administrative and programmatic pressure.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent in English and Amharic both speaking and writing.
