Organization: Embassy of Japan in Ethiopia
Deadline: Friday 29 May, 2026
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study in Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programme every year. This scholarship aims to foster human resources and, through study in Japan, encourage students to be the bridges of friendship between Ethiopia and Japan, contributing to the development of both countries and the wider world.
There are four types of scholarships offered under the programme:
(1) Research Students; (2) Undergraduate Students; and (3) College of Technology Students. The composition of each programme is different, but all of them cover tuition, living expenses and transportation fees between Ethiopia and Japan.
This is a valuable opportunity for Ethiopians to study in Japan, which will lead them to broaden their horizons and increase their future career prospects. Under the programme, students will not only have the opportunity to enhance their academic qualifications but also to experience the life in Japan and its distinctive culture and language.
Applications are required to be sent by postal service to the Embassy no later than Friday, 29 May 2026. Further information and related documents can be obtained from the Embassy of Japan’s website at: https://www.et.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_ja/11_000001_00952.html
