Duties

Strategic Content Development Specialist is responsible for the development and production of strategic content for distribution in multiple digital and traditional formats to media outlets in Ethiopia, particularly over Embassy social media platforms. Is responsible for editing monitoring reports of traditional and digital press and media coverage of issues of importance to U.S. foreign policy and for working with other sections and agencies to design social media coverage of Mission activities in ways that amplify U.S. policy priorities.

Requirements:

FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, APPLICANTS MUST MEET EITHER OPTION 1 OR OPTION 2 TO QUALIFY:

OPTION 1:

EXPERIENCE:

  • This position requires at least four years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural or multinational commercial or communications enterprise with public engagement, market research and analysis, and project management as significant components of the job.
  • Experience must include developing communications strategies, designing and executing information / marketing / advocacy campaigns. Graphic design skills and marketing/advocacy campaign using multi-faceted (multi-lingual, multi-media) digital formats a plus.

EDUCATION: University degree in communications, journalism, marketing, political science, or economics or related field is required.

or OPTION 2:

EXPERIENCE: 

  • A minimum of six years’ professional experience in a multilingual, multicultural or multinational commercial or communications enterprise with public engagement, market research and analysis, and project management as significant components of the job.
  • Graphic design skills a plus.

EDUCATION: Two years of university or college studies in any field is required.

LANGUAGE:  Mandatory:  English – Fluency in speaking, reading writing is required. (This may be tested.)
