General Purpose of the Job
Under the direction and supervision of the Sponsorship Manager, a Sponsorship Officer facilitates and manages periodic sponsorship activities, child sponsorship intakes/enrolment/, timely collection and submission of sponsorship communication materials (progress report, correspondence, success stories, child sponsorship profiles), executes periodic designated supports, and facilitates child-focused events in collaboration with Holt’s local partner organizations and social workers in the field. The Sponsorship Officer also closely works with other program staff, collaborates and participates in periodic field visits, makes sure that children in sponsorship regularly participate and benefit from Holt-funded programs. In addition, a Sponsorship Officer participates in Holt-led capacity strengthening activities, campaigns, review meeting, forums, assessments or evaluation.
KEY AREAS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
At Holt International Ethiopia Office, a candidate to be appointed as a Sponsorship Officer will hold the following roles and responsibilities:
- Collaborates with sponsorship and program staff and prepare annual work plan for the sponsorship section;
- Reviews/edits/ contents of periodic sponsorship correspondences and progress reports collected from the field;
- Executes periodic designated supports for individual children and their families based on their identified needs in collaboration with Holt’s partners and social workers;
- Facilitates/organizes/ child-focused events, celebrations and fair days in collaboration with Holt’s partners and social workers;
- Makes sure that children in sponsorship services properly participate and benefit from Holt-supported program packages;
- Facilitates sponsorship-focused field visits;
- Collects and commutates periodic child-focused stories and testimonies;
- Collaborates and works with local partner organizations and field level social workers in the implementation of Holt-supported program components;
- Participates in Holt-led capacity strengthening activities, campaigns, workshops, assessments or evaluation;
- Ensures high quality correspondence management and delivery;
- Ensures that sponsorship documentations are safely and professionally documented and organized;
- Ensures that systems are in place to monitor child eligibility and participation in sponsorship-funded programs;
- Provides support for Holt’s partners and social workers in the field to ensure that all forms of correspondence and progress reports are managed with high quality and authenticity;
- Prepares and submits periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarter and, annual) as per the requirement,
- Ensures that community members and parents of sponsored children have a firm understanding of sponsorship through sponsorship orientation session(s).
- Identifies capacity gaps of field level social workers and recommends for development/capacity strengthening plan;
- Handles related assignments and priorities requested from the immediate supervisor or cross-functioning unit.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Required Competencies
Preferred background involves:
- BA degree in language studies( preferably English), Communication, Sociology, Psychology and related social science studies;
- Experience in sponsorship operations and social services in NGOs are considerable.
- Proficient skill in English language with demonstrable compositional/writing/skills,
- Willingness and personal readiness to travel to fields;
- Practical knowledge about development concepts and child welfare programs is important.
