Program Leadership
- Coordinate SPIR II Zonal level program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation under the leadership of the zonal manager
- Ensure Zone and Woreda level technical staffs are well engaged to provide proper guidance to Zone and Woreda partner staffs and CFs
- Closely work with Zone M&E team to continuously monitor, ensure implementation quality and support an accountability system in the field
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of quarterly and annual project reports internally to SPIR II M&E team as well as strengthen the effort to document the impact of SPIR II activities
Partnership Management
- Work with Zone and Woreda government stakeholders in periodic program reviews, evaluations and joint monitoring
- Ensure timeliness of government reporting as per government guidelines and WVE directives
- Partner and coordinate with Zone and Woreda stakeholders, government partners and SPIR II implementing NGOs in the nearby Woredas to ensure collaboration and synergy
- Actively participate in Go-NGO forums
Team Management and Promote Learning
- Leads timely recruitment and replacement of technical team members
- Handles performance management of all direct reports and ensures positive and collaborative working relationships in line with WVE’s Code of Conduct in collaboration with WVE People and Culture
- Identifies staff capacity gaps and facilitates capacity building plan as needed
- Establishes regular team meeting to review program progress and facilitate learning
- Document and share key SPIR II learning internally with the zone and woreda team
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience from which at least two years are with similar senior Program management responsibilities as a part of USG-funded programming
- Demonstrated capacity to lead a team with similar scope of work
- PSNP-related work experience, preferably with a USAID or other donor-supported program preferred
- Experience in managing multi-sectoral programs (Ag/Nutrition) with strong capacity building programming preferred
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- BA/BSc required, and MA/MSc in Agriculture, Economics, Development, Social Sciences, or MBA preferred.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and working understanding of PSNP and USAID Food Security and Resilience programs
- Excellent partnership, communication and advocacy skills and the ability to interact effectively with donors, collaborating agencies, local and government partners
- Excellent organization and planning skills and ability to resolve problems constructively
- Computer literate, with strong knowledge of MS Office applications,
- Flexibility, persistence, and ability to work well in a multi-sectoral team
- Ability and willingness to travel to areas with fragile security situation
- Knowledge of the local language/afaan Oromo
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
30% field travel
