The Ethiopian Orthodox Church Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission Refugee and Returnee Affairs Department (EOC – DICAC/RRAD) would like to recruit and hire competent and qualified staff under its East Amhara region projects coordination office. Job Summary

Social workers:

Reducing gender-based barriers by changing the deep­ gender roles, as well as lobbying for greater gender equity in the stitutions. Unless the root causes of women subordination are identified dressed, programs aimed at improving women’s status may not yield the expected results Get involved in raising gender awareness through use of participatory methods of gender analysis such as the preparation of daily activity calendars for both sexes. • Significantly contribute in the reduction of sexual and gender discrimination by systematically gathering and analyzing information on gender differences and social relationships in order to identify, understand, and resolve inequities based on gender.

• Social workers bring a combination of compassion, knowledge, and skills to their work. No matter where they work, certain tasks are part of the job. Specifically the tasks include:

  • Assessing clients’ needs, situations, and strengths
  • Identifying the people and communities who need help
  • Responding to crisis situations
  • Caring for in-need persons
  • Maintaining case files and records
  • Developing and evaluating programs and services to ensure basic needs
  • Social workers often do not work a typical eight-hour workday. Rather than sit in an office, social workers spend most of their work hours in the community. A typical day might include attending a court hearing, supervising visits, advocating for client needs, and meeting with clients.

 

  • Competency Requirements for this

Qualification: First Degree and above in Sociology, Psychology, gender’s

Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience

Special Training: – Competence in computer use.
