Job Description
The PATH Social Worker is expected to perform duties and responsibilities including the following:
Beneficiary Selection:
- Participate in beneficiary selection and admission of children ages 7-13
- Assess and investigate the eligibility of the beneficiaries according to set criteria
- Interview and review beneficiary background information and properly document it in the beneficiary intake form
Child Beneficiary (ages 7-13) Mentorship and Oversight:
- Provide counseling (including family counseling) to child and family beneficiaries including home-to-home visits and center sessions
- Track the school performance of the children and record their educational progress
- Participate in weekly beneficiary mentorship/leadership/tutorial program
General Responsibilities:
- Conduct quarterly follow-up assessments
- Perform regular follow ups of activities, maintain accurate records/documentation, and prepare relevant reports, including communicating with schoolteachers and administration for accurate and updated student information
- Perform other duties to be assigned by the program manager or management of the organization.
- Coordinate with Livelihood Officer and Community Facilitatory in relevant activities including food distribution and information gathering
Job Requirements
- 3+ years NGO experience
- High Proficiency in Afan Oromo and Amharic
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to write detailed reports in English
- Ability to communicate by email
Educational Requirement: BA or above in social work or related social science field
