Job Description

Life Center is a local/indigenous, non-profit, secular, and development-oriented NGO founded in February 2013 by a volunteer of Ethiopian nationality. LC’s main focus is “ORPHANS & VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND WIDOWS/POOR MOTHERS’ CARE.” And it regenerates hope and self-esteem, as well, for the neglected and uncared for by supporting and empowering them to meet their basic needs, and creating an equitable environment. LC is now seeking a Social Worker who fulfills the following criteria:

•Number of Positions: Two

•Salary: Based on organizational scale

•Vacancy closing date: October 1, 2025

•Employment Type: Contract

•Report to: Program Coordinator

•Starting Date: November 1, 2025

•Organization: Life Center

About You

Education:

  • BA in Project Management, Social Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Economics, and/or other relevant fields.

Experience:

  • Two years in social work or related to orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) and/or women development program, especially in business development and micro loan program.
  • Language and Communication: Excellent written and spoken Amharic and English languages.

  • Excellent communication &writing skills, English proficient;
  • Able to work within a team;
  • Flexible, able to cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources;
  • Passionate and skilled in the areas of economic development
  • Of utmost integrity, trustworthy and accountable;
  • Contributing roles in coordination and co-operation;
  • Quality reporting, monitoring, and evaluation skills;
  • Data management and documentation skills;
  • Basic computer skills on MS packages: MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS- PowerPoint, and MS-Access;
  • Working effectively with beneficiaries/clients, partners, and stakeholders;
  • Experience in social work, community development, or a similar background preferred; and
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and networking skills.

Terms:

  • Full-time salaried position
  • Salary level accommodates any anticipated reasonable expenses related to job responsibilities;
  • No additional reimbursements or expenses will be granted to the employee;
  • Candidate shall have no other employment (full-time job) requiring complete dedication.
