Senior Social Media Expert

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Senior Social Media Expert position who meet the following requirements.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Communications Department, the Senior Social Media Expert will work with overall communications team to raise the profile of an independent, credible and effective institution that will deliver free, fair, inclusive and democratic electoral processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing NEBE’s Social Media accounts;
• Organize, plan and execute different Social Media Campaigns for NEBE;
• Conduct Social media monitoring and Develop social media analysis;
• Draft summaries and reports related to Social Medias monitored, for policy decisions;
• Ensure the consistency of responses on NEBE’s Social Media and mainstream media;
• Coordinate with different partners on prevention of electoral misinformation, fact checking and other related taxes
• Support the overall function of NEBE Media Monitoring Unit;
• Follow and supervise NEBE Media Monitoring Unit;
• Draft summaries and reports related to medias monitored, for policy decisions;
• Facilitating trainings related to media capacity building;
• Support over all NEBE’s Media relations works
• Other duties as assigned;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements on academic qualification:

• BA/MA in Communications, Journalism or any Social Science field.

Requirements on Professional Experiences:

• 7/5 years of work experience respectively out of which 4 years work experience should directly relate to Communications and social media.

• Attention to detail;
• Highly organized; comfortable working with multiple simultaneous priorities / projects;
• Good knowledge of social Media
• Good knowledge of the Ethiopian Media and political landscape
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
• Strong communication both spoken and written in Amharic.
