Know our team

Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting, and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. About you,

You will have at a minimum, a Masters degree from a recognized university in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Community Health or Nursing/Midwifery and Training in epidemiology and research methodologies preferred. At least 10 years’ experience working in maternal health, Midwifery, Public health and/or related field in Ethiopia or the Sub Saharan Africa. At least 5 years of experience in supervising Child survival programs. At least 5 years of experience in donor funded program/project implementation/supervision, monitoring and evaluation. Experience with micronutrient supplementation programs for pregnant mothers desirable. Experience in Budget/ grant management and tracking. Experience in advocacy and external relation management

.In line with NI’s strategic Plan the Child Health and Nutrition Senior Program Officer’s role is to be the technical lead for Child survival program (Vitamin A supplementation, VAS and Zinc/ORS interventions) in Ethiopia and to coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of integrated regional programs for SNNP Region of Ethiopia. He/she shall also improve the quality and coverage of integrated Nutrition and health program by supporting the Federal Ministry of Health and regional health Bureaus. Reporting to the Deputy country director, the regional coordinator / SPO will be responsible for project development, implementation and management of all integrated projects, monitoring and reporting, knowledge management, research and evaluation. S/h will manage all the external relation and supervise all the TAs in the regional bureaus. Working closely with the NI expertise in Ethiopia, RO and HQ S/H will be the technical lead for the Child survival Project. S/H will ensure overall project management and oversee the technical aspect of the project for smooth running.
