JOB SUMMARY

Under general guidance of the MSIE Centre managers/heads the Hospital Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property. This role involves monitoring the premises, responding to security incidents, and enforcing hospital policies to maintain a secure environment.

Duties/Tasks:

  1. Access Control:
    • Monitor and control access to the center premises, including entry points, parking lots, and restricted areas.
    • Verify the identity of visitors, patients, and staff before granting access to secure areas.
    • Issue visitor passes and maintain accurate records of visitors.
  2. Surveillance:
    • Monitor CCTV cameras and conduct regular patrols of center  grounds, including interior and exterior areas.
    • Report any suspicious activity or security breaches to the Security Supervisor immediately.
    • Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances.
  3. Emergency Response:
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, such as fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security threats.
  • Assist in evacuations during emergencies and provide support to emergency responders.

Incident Reporting:

  • Document and report all security incidents, accidents, and violations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain logs and records of daily activities, including patrols, visitor checks, and security incidents.
  • Cooperate with law enforcement and Center management during investigations.

Enforcement of center Rules:

  • Ensure compliance with center rules and regulations by patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Address any instances of non-compliance, such as smoking in non-designated areas or unauthorized access.

Support for center  Operations:

  • Provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed, such as giving directions or helping with transportation.
  • Escort patients, visitors, and staff to their vehicles, especially during late hours.
  • Assist with the transport of valuable or sensitive items within the center .

Loss Prevention:

  • Monitor for signs of theft, vandalism, or other criminal activity and take appropriate action.
  • Secure center property and equipment, ensuring that doors, windows, and other entry points are locked and secure.

Customer Service:

  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff, providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence to promote a safe and welcoming environment.

Safety Checks:

  • Conduct regular safety checks of  center  facilities, including fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits.
  • Report any safety hazards, such as broken equipment or slippery floors, to center management team .

Training and Compliance:

  • Participate in ongoing training programs related to security procedures, emergency response, and center rules .
  • Stay up-to-date with legal regulations and best practices in hospital security.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

A. Qualification Requirements

Education

8th Grade Complete

Experience

Two years of relevant experience in  security, law enforcement, or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting.
