Security Guard

The Carter Center is a not-for-profit international NGO committed to waging peace, fighting disease and building hope worldwide. The Carter Center – Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following Security Guard post for its Country Office:

Duty Station:               Addis Ababa

Summary Job Description:  

• Takes care of all properties of the office during duty hours.
• Hands over properties of the office using the process prepared for that purpose.
• Wears security uniform and remains around the gate and/or compound during duty hours.
• Immediately reports anything missing to the appropriate person and communicate any suspicious acts of theft or robbery to the police station.
• Handling visitors coming to the office courteously and directing them to the appropriate staff.
• Assists staff in loading and unloading supplies brought to the office.
• Takes care of compound garden along with day-to-day grounds maintenance, if requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification:            Grade 10/12 Completed

Experience:                Minimum of five years relevant experience as a security guard with a military background.

Additional Requirements:

·       Good communication skill

·       Military background is highly advantageous

·       Recommendation letter from the most recent employer

·       Able to present release letter from current employer in two weeks after job offer
