About the Program
HST Consulting PLC (HST), through its skill academy, in collaboration with FSD Ethiopia (FSDE), invites applications for a scholarship opportunity the Accounting Technician Training Program (ATTP). This national capacity building initiative aims to develop a skilled accounting workforce to support Ethiopia’s financial sector re-forms and the emerging capital market.
The program is designed as a competency based and technology enabled training platform that bridges the gap between academic learning and real world ac-counting practice. Successful participants may use the training as a pathway toward the Accounting Technician Qualification Ethiopia (ATQE) certification administered by the Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ETiCPA).
A total of up to 397 trainees will be admitted.
2. Program Objectives and Learning Approach
The HST ATTP seeks to strengthen foundational and intermediate accounting competencies while enhancing compliance with Ethiopia’s evolving financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks. The pro-gram supports the development of professionals who can contribute effectively to improved transparency, efficiency, and accountability across public and private institutions.
Learning Features include:

- 24/7 self-paced online learning
This flexible and applied learning approach allows participants to balance study with professional or personal commitments while building job ready skills.
3. Eligibility and Target Group
The program is intended for individuals who:
- Have completed Grade 12 or higher education
- Are under 40 years of age
- Aspire to build a career in accounting, finance, or related fields
- Are interested in contributing to Ethiopia’s financial sector and capital market ecosystem
Women and applicants from underserved regions are strongly encouraged to apply.
4. Application Requirements
Applicants must have access to a reliable internet connection and a PC, tablet, or smartphone.

- Professional experience (if any)
- A one sentence statement of motivation and career aspirations

5. Selection Process
The selection process will be carried out by HST with oversight
from FSDE and includes:
- Online application submission
- Initial eligibility screening
- Competency review and/or entrance assessment
- Final shortlisting and selection
Selection will be based on:
- Merit and motivation
- Educational background (minimum Grade 12)
- Relevant work experience (if any)
- Commitment to complete all 12 courses within one year
- Inclusion targets (gender, youth, and geographic balance)
The program aims to achieve 50% women’s participation, subject to appli-cant qualifications.
