Job Purpose:
The Risk and Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for managing complaints and feedback from program staff and beneficiaries in the field, ensuring the integrity of information received. This role involves providing coordination of Risk, Internal Control and Compliance, Internal Audit and Fraud in the Project Office. In addition, he/she is responsible for overseeing an organization’s compliance with donor laws and regulations. Their duties include coordinating with company management to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold laws and regulations and monitoring the company’s adherence to those policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Program/Project Planning and Implementation:
- Coordinate and facilitate program/project activities, ensuring they align with the overall program/project objectives and donor requirements.
- Monitor program/project progress, identify challenges, and develop solutions to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program/project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant materials.
- Coordinate monitoring of food aid resources in JEOP operational Woredas’ warehouses and ensure the commodities are stored in line with the standard. Ensures that all warehouses are keeping proper warehousing standards set by Donor. Monthly inspect all warehouses, take physical inventory and forward all findings to the immediate supervisor.
- Support and guide the field commodity teams in the proper management of food aid resources in line with the commodity management guide. Follow up that the allocated foods have arrived in each distribution site and necessary food packages are in place before projects call beneficiaries for distribution.
- Monitor and ensure an adequate filing system is in place in all warehouses and easy to access them when required.
- Monitor regular commodity end use check, PDM, etc. are conducted in its designated woredas after the completion of each food distribution round to check and verify beneficiaries have received their entitlements as per the determined rations sizes and verify other relevant information on JEOP food beneficiaries
- Review relevant food transaction documents to check and provide feedback on practice of standard recording and documentation and reconciliation between different commodity transaction recording documents
- Check and ensure if control procedures are adequate at each stage of JEOP food handling and distribution process to prevent corruption and misappropriation
- Constantly report to management concerning the organization’s compliance with laws and regulations.
Other Responsibilities:
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of new program/project proposals and fundraising efforts.
- Represent the organization at relevant meetings and events.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
- MA/MSC, BA/BSc Degree in social science fields such as Development studies, Agriculture, Economics, Accounting and other related fields
Required Professional Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in relief and/or any emergency response program interventions implementation related to compliance and accountability
- Computer literate
- Experience in providing technical support and/ or strong organizational skills required.
