Regional EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) Project Manager

Job Description

  • Coordinate program planning and review workshop among stakeholders, Donor and sub grantee on performance and learning session;
  • Lead identifying needs, and implement capacity building activities of technical staff at all levels;
  • Conduct joint supportive supervision, mentorship and monitoring of activities being implemented in coordination with stakeholders and community representatives;
  • Conduct assessments on immunization needs and adjust programmatic priorities
  • Support vaccine forecast, distribution, and adherence to cold chain management and supply chain;
  • Advise on strategies and approaches to ensure vaccination coverage targets in project woredas and zones are achieved in time;
  • Harmonize collection, analysis including documentation, reporting, and utilization of EPI data
  • Support to establish early warning surveillance system to identify, report, investigate and respond to outbreak of vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual project activity reports in line with reporting standards;
  • Collaborate with field staff; and respective woreda, zonal and regional health office team
  • Other project related duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor
  • Commits to support all the efforts of the ODA to prevent and respond to SEA allegations: adhere to the ODAs code of conduct,

About You

Qualification:

  •   (BSc or MD) in medicine, public health, nursing or other health sciences with graduate degree (Masters) in public health, epidemiology; or related fields.
  •  Additional training in immunization programs, health systems is an advantage

Experience:

Related Articles
  •  For first degree holders at least eight years; and for graduate /second degree holders six-years of relevant experience with government organizations; national or international organizations in the program coordination, management and leadership roles in public health, expanded immunization, child health or related fields.
  • Previous expertise in designing, implementation, assessment and monitoring of immunization programs is an advantage.

Skills: 

  •  Excellent knowledge of Afaan Oromo, Amaharic and  English, in spoken and written
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and ability to convene stakeholders and facilitate a policy process among NGOs, national health authorities and donors ;
  • Credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the program,
  • Team building and supporting;
  • Have charismatic leadership, responsive and communication protocol;
