Pharmacy Based Immunization Project

PSI Ethiopia in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the regional health bureaus (RHBs), in implementing a pharmacy-based immunization delivery (PBID) pilot project through funding from Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery (PBID) is an initiative aimed at expanding access to vaccination services through trained pharmacists working in selected community pharmacies. The project is part of a three-country program implemented in Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria for four years (2025-2028). The project works to generate evidence for potential scale-up through conducting implementation research using a mixed method. These include client exit interviews (CEIs) with vaccination users/care givers at the pilot pharmacies, in-depth interview with providers (trained and certified pharmacists providing the vaccination services in the pilot pharmacies), and key-informant interview with stakeholders.

We are looking for

We are seeking 5 highly skilled Qualitative interviewers to conduct qualitative interviews for a pharmacy-based immunization study on Tetanus-Diphtheria, HPV, and routine childhood vaccinations.

Job Responsibilities

• Qualitative Data Collection: Independently organize and facilitate specialized fieldwork sessions within assigned pharmacies, including:
• In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) with pharmacy providers
• Audio Recording & Notetaking: Ensure high-quality audio recording of all sessions while maintaining precise, contextual field notes ensuring data quality and ethical standards
• Transcription & Translation: Transcribe audio recordings verbatim from local languages and accurately translate them into English templates.
• Reporting: Generate clean, thematic summary briefs for each assigned pharmacy outlining barriers and facilitators to pharmacy-based immunization

Job requirements 

Education: 

• Master’s degree in public health, nursing, or a closely related field. Candidates with a master’s degree in medical anthropology, social work, or another relevant social science discipline, particularly with experience in immunization, maternal, and child health are also encouraged to apply.

Qualitative Expertise: At least 3–5 years of verified experience conducting and analyzing qualitative health research (KIIs, and IDIs)

Analytical Software Proficiency: Experience utilizing qualitative data analysis software (NVivo or ATLAS.ti) to code text and generate thematic matrices.

Language  

• Fluency: Excellent written and spoken English for cross-collaboration and final reporting.
• Professional working fluency in the native language (Afaan Oromoo or Amharic) is mandatory to moderate IDIs
