Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for the proper implementation of a project titled ‘Commemorating Victims of Ethiopian Airlines 302 by Empowering Disadvantaged Highschool Students in Addis Ababa’. The responsibility entails leading on and supporting the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities of the project

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project’s work plans on annual/six monthly/quarterly basis
  • Carryout regular visits to targeted high schools to ensure smooth implementation of project activities
  • Develop and maintain a sound network of relevant government, non-government institutions as well as victims’ family.
  • Identify strategic implementing partners/institutions and facilitate their active participation in the entire project cycle management
  • Coordinate stakeholder events including advisory group meetings
  • Lead on regular project progress review exercises and periodic evaluation activities
  • Prepare briefing papers/project updates for periodic review meetings.
  • prepare a high-quality reports, best practices, and learning/knowledge management materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Qualifications

You will be a motivated and proactive Project Officer with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to make a difference in the lives of the project target groups. Specific requirements include:

  • MA degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant social science fields.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience of work on youth focused programs/projects particularly of volunteering programs.
  • Experience on all aspects of project management (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills, including English language written skills,
