Project Coordinator

Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA), as the Secretariat of the National Humanitarian Forum (NHF) and host institution of the Forum, invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Project Coordinator to support the implementation of NHF programmes and initiatives.

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with frequent travel to regions.

Reports To: National Humanitarian Forum Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-Time (Contract)

Contract Duration: Ten (10) months, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Position Purpose

The Project Coordinator will support the National Humanitarian Forum (NHF) Secretariat in coordinating and implementing projects, strengthening the operational capacity of the Forum, and ensuring effective delivery of its strategic priorities.

The position will contribute to the Forum’s coordination, localization, capacity strengthening, advocacy, knowledge management, information management, partnership development, and resource mobilization functions while ensuring high-quality implementation of donor-funded initiatives.

The Project Coordinator serves as part of the National Humanitarian Forum and works closely with Forum members, government institutions, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other humanitarian stakeholders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination

• Coordinate planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects implemented under the National Humanitarian Forum.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with donor requirements.
• Prepare work plans, implementation schedules, and progress reports.
• Coordinate consultants, partners, and service providers involved in project implementation.

2. Support to the National Humanitarian Forum Secretariat

• Support the day-to-day functioning of the National Humanitarian Forum Secretariat.
• Organize General Assembly, Steering Committee, Technical Working Group, and other Forum meetings.
• Prepare agendas, minutes, briefing papers, and follow-up action plans.
• Maintain Forum documentation, databases, and institutional records.
• Support communication with Forum members and external partners.

3. Humanitarian Coordination and Localization

• Support implementation of the Forum’s localization strategy and strategic priorities.
• Facilitate engagement of Forum members in national and sub-national humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Support coordination related to Area-Based Coordination (ABC), humanitarian reform, anticipatory action, preparedness, and locally led humanitarian action.
• Assist in organizing policy dialogues, learning events, and advocacy initiatives.

4. Partnership and Member Engagement

• Strengthen collaboration with Forum members and humanitarian partners.
• Coordinate member capacity development activities.
• Support networking with government institutions, UN agencies, INGOs, donors, academia, and private sector partners.
• Facilitate information sharing and collaborative initiatives among members.

5. Information and Knowledge Management

• Support humanitarian information management and data collection activities.
• Coordinate preparation of analytical reports, lessons learned, case studies, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
• Maintain project databases and monitoring systems.
• Support digital platforms and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

6. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

• Monitor implementation progress against approved work plans and indicators.
• Compile technical and financial progress information.
• Prepare high-quality donor and management reports.
• Document project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

7. Resource Mobilization

• Support development of concept notes, project proposals, and partnership initiatives.
• Contribute to donor engagement and fundraising efforts.
• Assist in identifying funding opportunities aligned with the Forum’s strategic priorities.

8. Other Responsibilities

• Perform any other duties assigned by the National Humanitarian Forum Coordinator.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Public Administration, International Relations, Social Sciences, and related fields

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian coordination, humanitarian programming, civil society development, localization, project management, and related fields
• Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, government institutions, or humanitarian coordination mechanisms is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with humanitarian information management tools is an added advantage.
