Organizational Profile:

North Wollo Zone Woldiya University Higher Education Community Radio is a regionally registered non-profit, membership-based community radio serving audiences in North Wollo (Amhara), Southern Tigray, and North Western Afar. It provides objective, accurate, and comprehensive news and information to its target audience.

Position Summary:

The Project Associate will provide essential administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Project Manager and the wider project team for the successful implementation of the project “Laying the groundwork for peace and democratization through media innovation, civic partnership, and engagement”. The Associate will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the project, ensuring all activities are carried out smoothly.

Objective of the Assignment:

  • To assist the Project Manager in the daily operational tasks and provide support to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of the project’s activities.

Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Assist in organizing project meetings, workshops, and other events. Manage project files and documentation, and handle general administrative tasks.
  • Logistical Support: Coordinate travel arrangements, procurement of project materials, and other logistical needs for project activities.
  • Activity Implementation: Support the implementation of various project activities, including community engagements, capacity-building workshops, and data collection for M&E.
  • Communication: Draft correspondence, meeting minutes, and other project-related communication.
  • Reporting Support: Assist the Project Manager in preparing progress reports by compiling data and drafting sections of the reports.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, Medicine, IT or any other relevant degree.
  • Prior experience working in a non-profit or development organization is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to live and work in Woldiya, North Wollo.
