IOM Ethiopia’s Migration Management Unit (MMU) works closely with the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) and supports the effort of GoE in improving migration management and governance. The Unit focuses on strengthening migration governance, labour migration management, border and migration management, inter‑agency coordination and capacity building and development.
Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Migration Management Programme Coordinator and direct supervision of the Programme Officer for MMGU, in the IOM Head Office in Addis Ababa, the successful candidate will work jointly with relevant units to support logistical and administrative.
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities ensuring that planned activities are executed according to approved timelines and flagging implementation delays in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM’s official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in in English and Amharic is required (oral and written) and Afan oromo, Tigrigna and/or Somali is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
