VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

GITEC-IGIP is an International Consulting Company with its Headquarters based in Cologne, Germany. GITEC-IGIP is the Implementing Consultant for the Project Strengthening drought resilience of the pastoral and agro-pastoral livelihoods in the lowlands (Afar) of Ethiopia (SDR-1/2).

For the above Project GITEC is seeking the services of a dynamic, target-oriented, national professional as Project Administrator, based in Addis Ababa.

Scope of Work

As Project Administrator you coordinate day-to-day administrative project activities, including simple tasks and larger plans with our government partners, national and international service providers and local NGOs among others. You support the international Team Leader and supervise the GITEC Administrative Team in preparing of action plans, preparation of tenders, compiling of project progress reports and mobilizing of resources. You manage schedules, arrange assignments and communicate progress to all team members. You participate in regular Project Management Team Meetings and you support the project meeting its quality standards and deliverables on time and within budget. You are responsible for Human Resource Management of the administrative GITEC Teams in Addis Ababa and in Semera. You ensure that administrative rules and regulations are upheld. You maintain an administrative database to secure our institutional memory, and you engage in the project’s PR initiatives.

Place of Work

  • Ministry of Agriculture, Addis Ababa with frequent trips to Semera, Afar Region

Job Requirements

Education

  • BSc in Business Administration or related field

Core Qualifications Required

  • Minimum six years of professional experience as a Project Administrator or Coordinator
  • Solid organization and time-management skills
  • Experience of working with different government institutions in Ethiopia
  • Knowledge in preparation of tender documents, tender support and contract management
  • Excellent English language communication and correspondence skills
  • Strong team spirit and inter-personal skills
