Project Context and Scope
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) aims to strengthen efforts at all levels to address mobility issues linked to environmental factors and climate change. IOM’s vision is that migration governance considers the impact of disasters, environment, and climate change on human mobility. The MECC program, is designed to address these challenges by mainstreaming climate mobility into national policies, supporting nature-based solutions for vulnerable communities, securing climate finance, and creating adaptive strategies to reduce the risk of forced migration.
Under the Chief of Mission’s overall supervision and direct supervision and guidance from Heads of Program and relevant colleagues, the incumbent will manage all aspects of MECC programming in Ethiopia, including project implementation, capacity building, assessments, training, research, and related activities.

In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration, climate change, climate adaptation and disaster risk managemnet related subject areas.
Knowledge of climate action related project design and implementation, including monitoring, reporting, and ensuring knowledge sharing and cross-learning opportunities.
Comprehensive understanding of compliance with organizational and donor requirements, including procurement, finance, and human resources.
Strong skills for promoting innovative approaches.
Capacity building expertise, including organizing and delivering trainings and facilitating internal knowledge sharing on climate action and mobility.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
REQUIRED
Internal and External applicants for all positions in the NOA position are required to be proficient in English (oral and written) and have at least a working knowledge of Amharic (Oral and Written).

IOM covers the Affiliated Contractor against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the contract.
