Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is a US-based, global public health organization with a mission to prevent 100 million deaths from heart disease and to make the world safer from epidemics. Since 2017, Resolve to Save Lives has partnered with low-and middle-income country governments, multilateral agencies, academic and other civil society partners, and communities to implement policies and programs to treat and control hypertension, reduce sodium intake, eliminate artificial trans fats, and strengthen systems for epidemic prevention.
The Cardiovascular Health (CVH) unit at Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) provides technical assistance in developing cardiovascular disease prevention programs to help countries improve their people’s heart health. Working with our partners to improve the control of high blood pressure, reduce salt intake, and eliminate transfat from the global food supply, the CVH team has helped save countless lives from cardiovascular disease.
Resolve to Save Lives’Cardiovascular Health (CVH) unit works with partners to prevent premature deaths from heart attack and stroke. Our focus is on increasing global control of high blood pressure to 50%, reducing the global salt intake by 30% and eliminatingtrans fat from the global food supply chain. The Hypertension team focuses primarily on implementing the WHO HEARTS strategy to increase access to hypertension care in low- and middle-income countries. We work globally in 38 countries, with teams in India, Nigeria,Ethiopia andChina.
The Principal Advisor, Hypertension Control Policy, is a key member of the Cardiovascular Health (CVH) team, supporting the CVH program’s core goals of improving population hypertension control. This position is a key advisor on policy actions to scale up hypertension programs in priority countries and leads the development and execution of RTSL’s global strategy for increasing access to medicines and blood pressure monitoring devices. Under the supervision of the Director for Global Hypertension Control, the incumbent works to optimize RTSL’s strategy from both the demand and supply sides, advocating for enhanced prioritization and financing to support the national scale-up of effective hypertension treatment. The role also involves close collaboration with in-country and global partners focused on hypertension control policy development, advocacy, and coordination with the Legal Public Health Director on any legal or regulatory activities. The salary range for applicants based in the US is $140,000 to $160,000 annually. The exact offer will be determined by various factors, such as the candidate’s skills and experience relative to the requirements of the role. For applicants based outside the US, salaries are set according to national labor rates for the international NGO sector.
