Job Description

Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA) is a non-political, non-religious, and not-for-profit Ethiopian Civil Society Organization focused on sustainable wetland and natural resource management, as well as livelihoods improvement. EWNRA, with funding from NORAD through the Development Fund of Norway, is set to implement the project “Improving Rights, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Forest Management in Southwestern Ethiopia” in Gambela, Oromia, and the Southwest Ethiopia People’s Regional States.

  • Two (One for Mizan Area Coordination Office and One for Metu Area Coordination Office)

Duty Stations:

  • Mizan-Aman Town (Bench-Sheko Zone, Southwest Ethiopia Peoples’ Regional State), Metu Town (Iluababor Zone, Oromia Regional State)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Project Coordinators the PPME and Gender officers will be responsible for:
  • Facilitate participatory planning, monitoring, and evaluation for forestry and natural resource projects in southwest Ethiopia.
  • Lead routine data collection and compilation to track performance against indicators.
  • Ensure data quality, manage the M&E database, and analyze and synthesize results.
  • Coordinate project reporting, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations.
  • Work with technical teams, communities, and government partners to document and share best practices.
  • Undertake other project-related duties as assigned by the Technical Team Leader or Coordination Office.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Requirements:

  • MA/MSc degree from recognized Universities/Colleges in Forestry, Agro-forestry, Natural Resource Economics, Agricultural economics, and related fields.

Experience:

  • At least five years of demonstrated experience in forest and natural resource project planning, monitoring and evaluation, including PFM, REDD+, participatory natural resource management, watershed management, and community livelihood development. NGO experience is an advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • Competency in computer applications MS offices are required. Other application software such as SPSS, STATA, GIS, etc have additional assets but are not mandatory.
  • Superior command of written and spoken skills in English is mandatory
  • Cooperative, team player, gender-sensitive, and excellent in interpersonal relationships, have strong commitment and open to learning and sharing.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

For all positions

Salary: As per EWNRA’s salary scale.

Terms of Employment: 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension for up to two years, based on performance.
