Kegna Beverages Share Company is the company which is under formation and working hard to engross in the Beverage Industry of Ethiopia that is incredibly untapped yet and fast growing.

The Company, officially endorsed on 04 March 2017 by the recommendation and promoter Committee selection of the Public Private Partnership Council of the Oromia Regional State. The promoter committee has been in contact since then frequently on the formal establishment of Kegna Beverages and on fulfilling local legal requirements of company formation, finalizing multiple discipline viability tests and studies and ground preparation for the official launching and foreign direct investment search, and approaches.

Kegna Beverages Share Company officially launched on 01 April 2017 at the Oromo Cultural Center at the Presence of higher Oromia Regional State Officials, Bank Representatives, Local Investors, invited Foreign Investors, Invited guests and Medias. The multiple studies which are mostly finalized as of now (Feasibility Study, Civil and Construction works assessment, Geotechnical, hydrology and topography analysis) on the primarily selected site of the production are finalized and ready to show the picture of the investment as of now.

Role Description

PM maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep of a facility, such as Filling, packing, washing, boiler plant compressor and other equipment. Duties include inspecting beverage equipment, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repairs. Inspect regularly all production machineries to ensure long life, safe and efficient operation. PM technician has to manage the smooth operation of the machines by overall maintenance.

Responsibilities

  1. Act where there are unsafe situations/behavior (e.g. stop work/machine), give feedback and report incidents, accidents and hazards to the relevant people and manager
  2. Follow and apply appropriately, correctly and consistently the LOTO and work permit procedures
  3. Act according to the emergency plan and procedures in high risk events/crisis situations
  4. Support evaluation of accidents, incidents and near misses and propose short- and long-term solutions
  5. Executes maintenance work properly using risk assessment, LOTO and work permit procedures (depending on type of maintenance work being done)
  6. Train and coach operators in CILT execution by providing on-the-job examples
  7. Train and coach operators in maintenance tools (e.g.,torque wrench for critical bolt tension, dedicated spring compression tools)
  8. Perform Breakdown Analysis (BDA), link it with AM activities and propose and execute corrective actions (e.g. CILT standards modification, sensor protection)
  9. Detects machines’ anomalies and uses tagging procedures; solves tags with operators
  10. Efficiently execute planned maintenance tasks in his/ her area: prepare and execute work orders (parts, tools, services, permits etc.), follow PM day time schedule, coordinate contractor services and AM activity, evaluate PM day after execution
  11. Participate in overhaul process: select and specify parts and services needed, follow up delivery (check quantity and whether correct parts were delivered), execute work orders in his/her area
  12. Apply planned maintenance procedures (e.g. tagging, modification), standards (e.g. PM inspection plan) and systems (CMMS) in his/her work
  13. Identify spare parts for maintenance (e.g. machine documentation, CMMS), issue spare parts, collect parts in work preparation, contribute to scrap/refurbish decisions, monitor and escalate spare part consumption in his/her area
  14. Support the team and participate in creating a maintenance standard according to the PM standards route
  15. Apply diagnostics, troubleshooting methods and technical skills to quickly restore equipment into an operational status
  16. Restore basic conditions when immediate action is required for losses (e.g. breakdowns, minor stops, and speed losses)
  17. Correctly follow the unplanned maintenance processes (e.g. systematic breakdown reduction)
  18. Collect the necessary information from the operator in order to understand the failure
  19. Describe the working principle of the equipment to understand failures
  20. Determine possible failure causes and collect other evidence to locate the failure
  21. Propose possible problem-solving options to operations (e.g. quick fix versus full repair); fact-based and with complete information
  22. Fix the problem and restore the equipment function, using the necessary tools
  23. Repair an item or fit a new item correctly, without disturbing adjacent items
  24. Assess the failure from a functional, multi-disciplinary point of view (e.g. electrical, mechanical, automation)
  25. Check operating conditions in critical areas: settings, adjustments, parameters, tolerances
  26. Inspecting production, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
  27. Follow up the stalk level of spare parts, tools, accessories and report to maintenance engineer
  28. Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged component.
  29. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
  30. Planning and scheduling repairs. Train operator to execute CILT/autonomous maintenance.
  31. Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
  32. Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
  33. Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies
  34. Handling assigned work orders and PMs (inspections, oil changes, meter readings, etc.)
  35. Cleaning and maintaining the tools you work with Abiding by different safety measures and policies
  36. Solving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment
  37. Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, eCat, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance work
  38. (Dis)assembling/installing new machines, condition monitoring sensors, equipment, etc.
Education
  • BSC in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Experience
  • Experience: 5+ year for BSC of relevant work experience for a private organization in a maintenance role, preferably in FMCG sector (e.g. food processing, packaging/filling line) or manufacturing sector.
Skills
  • The ability to train and support AM teams in achieving, sustaining and improving basic equipment condition.
  • The ability to prepare, execute, register, evaluate and improve planned maintenance
  • The ability to restore malfunctioning equipment to operation and determine,
    analyze and systematically eliminate failure root cause(s).
  • The ability to maintain the spare parts stock and contribute to spare parts purchasing. Basic understanding of electrical, Mechanical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.
