Project Description

BRIDGE+  is a five year programme (from November 2023 to December 2028) implemented by a consortium of partners composed of SNV Netherlands Development Organization (lead) and Wageningen University (WUR and Agriterra, with the financial support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN).

The overall objective of the BRIDGE+ programme is to contribute to a functioning dairy Value Chain that creates inclusive and sustainable benefits for all its participants, including wider society, with particular focus on smallholder farmers within the mixed farming system. To attain this objective, the project will operate at three levels: (1) smallholder farmers: increase benefits from dairy farming; (2) dairy value chain: improving functioning and food safety; and (3) at sector level: strengthening institutional structure.

Key roles and responsibility include, not limited to:

  • Supervising and guiding the Project Assistant to ensure that the project team receives the required support services. Where necessary, provide support and play a pro-active role in submitting relevant documentation to the SNV support services and making a follow-up that the conditions are in place for the services to be delivered.
  • Establishing and maintaining an administrative system for all contracts, handled by the project, including suppliers, grantees, project partners. Establish an effective system for monitoring progress and performance of contracted parties, ensuring timely payments and carrying out financial analysis of expenditure.
  • Supporting and supervising the regional teams, to ensure that SNV administrative and financial procedures are adhered to and are in line with project strategies and budgets.
  • Participate in programmatic discussions at the project level.

Although the role requires familiarity with various support services, there is a bias towards financial and contractual procedures. Familiarity with programmatic issues is a distinct advantage.

Qualifications

  •  (Proficiency level equivalent to) master’s degree in specialised/ relevant technical field and
  •  At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in general administration and contract management, preferably with an INGO in a similar capacity in a field position
  • Graduate qualification ideally with a specialization in development, business studies or management, marketing, secretarial science, or another relevant field.
  •  Strong background and work experience in donor funded program.
  •  Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access.
  •  Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
  • Team player and flexible.
  • Budget development and oversight experience.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

Additional Information

Contract Type: National

Expected start date: 01, January 2024.

Duty Station:  Addis Ababa

Contract Duration: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability.
