How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of Nutrition Officer, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support and prioritize the delivery of IYCF- E counseling in drought/conflict-affected Woredas, IDP sites, and health facilities (health posts and health centers) in three regions.
  • Support capacity of health workers on skills and competencies necessary for the provision of IYCF- E counselling through on-the-job coaching and mentoring.
  • Raise demand for appropriate IYCF- E at individual and household levels across the region in collaboration with ENOs & C4D teams.
  • Disseminate IYCF- E promotion posters in drought/conflict-affected Woredas, IDP sites, host communities, and health facilities.
  • Prepare human interest stories on IYCF- E promotion in collaboration with C4D teams.
  • Conduct supervision and monitoring of IYCF- E interventions in drought/conflict-affected Woredas, IDP sites, and health facilities to ensure the delivery of quality services provision.
  • Work closely with TAs at the government office and participate and support on the nutrition data collection, triangulation, analysis, and reporting process

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • He/ she should be enrolled at a university in Ethiopia at the undergraduate or graduate level or be a recent graduate (within the past two years) in nutrition, public health, Social Science, health Education/promotion or related technical field is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences.
  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures and working environments.
  • Fluency in English is required.
