Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability MELA Officer

Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a national CSO registered in Ethiopia. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Programs. DEC actively works in seven National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, South West Ethiopia, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following positions: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability Officer, Gender Equality & Social Inclusion and Safeguarding Officer, Training Officer.

Job Summary

Ensuring that programs are effectively tracked, evaluated, and improved based on evidence and community feedback. He/she designs and implements systems to monitor progress, assess impact, and uphold accountability standards, including complaint and feedback mechanisms.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan assessment and Research activities of projects with a clear methodology that supports the efficient implementation and achievement of goals.
• Preparing and timely submitting project-related reports and documents.
• Support Project teams to provide timely and quality reporting to inform the team
• Perform additional activities given by the immediate supervisor
• Establish and manage monitoring systems. Track progress and results, promote accountability
• Support learning by documenting best practices and lessons learned to improve program performance and impact
• Measure outcomes adequacy, safety, durability, and occupancy

Reports to: Area Program Coordinator

Location: DEC Mizan Bench Sheko Area Office

Contract Type: fixed-term contract

Language: Fluent in Shekogna and Bench

Required No. 1

Educational Qualification and Experience

• MA/ MSc in Statistics, Social Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related fields of study. At least 7 years of proven work experience

Additional Skill

• Good communication skills in teamwork and team mobilizations, and partnership management.
• Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing, and working with communities
• Good report writing, use of technology application skills
