Job Description

DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government, bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following position.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in situation analysis studies and contribute to program design; ensure data collection, analysis, and documentation of learnings; evaluate project impact and efficiency;
  • Implement complaint and feedback mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with program teams and partner staff; ensure quality assurance and continuous learning.
  • Preparing and timely submitting all project-related reports and documents.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with M&E contacts;
  • Support to manage M&E workspace.
  • Design surveys and other data collection tools to gather data internally.
  • Support Program teams to provide timely and quality reporting to inform the management team.

About You

Qualification BA/MA

  • BA/ MA in Statistics, Social Science, Business or related fields of study

NGO/CSO Experience

  • At least 5 years

Additional Skills

  • Good Experience with PME L Skills;
  • Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
  • Experience in facilitating research, assessments, best practice capturing, and working with communities
  • Good report writing, use of technology application skills
