Job Description
Development Expertise Lab (DEL) specialises in data collection, data analysis, monitoring & evaluation and research activities in developing countries. DEL is hiring Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Experts based in East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda).
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health or a related field
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation and/or learning for donor-funded development or humanitarian programmes
- Demonstrated experience applying the OECD-DAC evaluation criteria or equivalent MEAL frameworks
- Strong quantitative and/or qualitative research skills, including experience with statistical software (Stata, SPSS or R) and/or qualitative analysis tools
- Proficiency with digital data collection platforms (ODK, KoboCollect, SurveyCTO or CommCare)
- Sound knowledge of the development, humanitarian and policy context of the country of residence (Kenya, Uganda, Somalia or Ethiopia)
- Prior experience working with UN agencies, international NGOs or bilateral/multilateral donors is highly desirable
- Experience conducting gender-sensitive and disability-inclusive research is an asset
- Excellent report-writing and facilitation skills in English; working proficiency in other relevant local languages is an advantage
- Based in Kenya, Uganda, Somalia or Ethiopia.
